Bolinao Falls 1,2 and 3 Guide: A Waterfall Trilogy Adventure
Last Updated on: 14th March 2025, 07:41 am
I’ve always thought Bolinao Pangasinan is only known for its beaches, but little did I know that they have not only 1, but 3 scenic waterfalls that we were about to discover. Here’s our Bolinao Falls waterfall trilogy adventure + guide.

These three waterfalls are just a short drive from one another, making it easy to visit them all in one trip. Since the area has little to no signal, we hired a local tour guide to help us navigate and get to the 3 falls. While they may be in the same area, each waterfall differs in size, ambiance, and attractions. Here’s a description of each waterfall, along with our personal experience exploring them.
Bolinao Falls 1
Our first stop is Bolinao Falls 1, the tallest of the three. There is a steep staircase to get to the falls, and once we arrived, I was absolutely in awe of its beauty. The sight of the cascading water made the trek completely worth it.

Before swimming, we rented a life vest for ₱50, as swimming without one is prohibited. It’s a bummer since we all know how to swim, but we understand that it’s for our safety. We had fun swimming, and it’s good that we arrived there on a weekday since there were only a few tourists.

One of the main attractions here is Cliff Diving, where you will jump off a wooden platform—kind of similar to the one in Sugba Lagoon in Siargao. Of course, we jumped there, and it was a thrilling experience. It brought back memories of my last cliff dive back in 2019.

Bolinao Falls 2
Our next stop was Bolinao Falls 2, just a 3-minute drive from Falls 1. This waterfall was a lot smaller, but the pool was much bigger. Another good thing is that there are more shallow parts here than Falls 1, which is suitable for kids and those who don’t know how to swim. Life vests are still required, though, and we paid ₱50 again to rent a life vest.

Compared to Falls 1, the ambiance was more laid-back, but nevertheless, we enjoyed swimming in the falls. There are picnic cottages available in the area, which you can rent, and small stores where you can buy snacks.
Bolinao Falls 3
Our final stop was Bolinao Falls 3, where we decided to take a lunch break. Like Falls 1, getting there required climbing down a staircase, but this time, the trek was a bit longer. The waterfall looked similar to Falls 2, but it was noticeably bigger and wider. What really caught my attention was its stunning turquoise pool—it looked just like an artificial swimming pool.

We rented a cottage for lunch and were lucky to get the best spot—right near the falls. There were also a few nearby stores selling food and snacks, which was super convenient. At the top of the falls was a cluster of shallow pools where we did a lot of picture-taking since the surrounding views were photography-worthy.

Which is better? Bolinao Falls 1,2 or 3?
When it comes to scenery, Bolinao Falls 1 is definitely my favorite—it looks grand and is perfect for photos. But for relaxation, Bolinao Falls 3 takes the top spot. With plenty of picnic huts and a smaller crowd, it’s the ideal place to unwind and stay longer. Nevertheless, all falls are a must-visit!
Bolinao Falls Entrance Fee and Operating Hours
Entrance fee for all falls is ₱50 per head, with parking fees of ₱20 for motorcycles and ₱30 for cars. The falls are open daily from 6 AM to 6 PM.
Other Fees:
When visiting any of the three waterfalls in Bolinao, you’ll need to pay a ₱40 environmental fee, which is valid for three days and covers all destinations in Bolinao. You also need to rent a life vest, which costs ₱50 per use, as wearing life vests in all falls is mandatory. If you have your own, I recommend bringing it along to save on rental fees. Cottage rates range from ₱150 – ₱300.
There are bathrooms/changing rooms available in all three falls, but they have a corresponding fee.
Bolinao Falls Location: How to get here
Google Map Location: Barangay Samang Norte, Bolinao, 2406 Pangasinan
By Bus:
Terminals are available in Cubao and Pasay that will take you directly to Bolinao. Once you arrive in Bolinao, you can hire a tricycle that will take you to the 3 falls, which costs ₱150 – ₱200.
You can check the bus schedules here
By Private Car:
If you’re coming from Manila, drive through NLEX and TPLEX, then take the Ramos/Paniqui toll exit. The trip takes about 5-6 hours. Keep in mind that once you reach Barangay Samang, the signal is pretty weak (or nonexistent), so apps like Waze or Google Maps might not work. In our case, we just hired a tour guide to take us to the falls. You can find them along the way to Bolinao Falls.
That wraps up our guide to Bolinao Falls 1, 2, and 3! These stunning waterfalls are definitely a must-add to your Bolinao itinerary. I would definitely go back here if I got the chance to visit Bolinao again : )
