Friends – they are known as your siblings in heart. Your shoulder to cry on, your second parents, your inspiration – the list goes on and on. My friends are one of a kind- all of us have different personalities, but once we’re together, it’s like our minds are turned into one. Like a jumbled puzzle that when put together, it becomes a masterpiece.
Below are the types of friends I’ve had, and I’m sure you’ll find one too :)) Let’s get started!
The Funny one
The life of the party – this kind of friend knows how to tickle your funny bone. Just by seeing his/her face, you’ll laugh. SERIOUSLY! Every joke that they made, cringe-worthy or witty, will surely make your day. These types of friends are usually my best friends since I’m also the funny one in my clique. Aside from their wonderful sense of humor, these friends are BRUTALLY HONEST. And that’s what I like about them! A true friend means being true to you and they will never be the cheap backstabber.
The Therapist
The shoulder to cry on and the listener – the therapist friend is a gift from the gods. This kind of friend will listen to any rants you have – it can be a bad day, your moments with your crush, etc. Not only he/she is good at listening, but this friend is also great at giving advice! I really love these types of friends, because not only they will listen to you, but also genuinely help you overcome your problems and inspire you. A trustworthy and patient person, this kind of friend is a treasure. Not to mention that this type of friend are rare to find nowadays, so if you have one, you better keep him/her!
The Outgoing.
Did anyone say slumber party? Drinking session? The Outgoing friend is ready for it all! This friend will surely bring thrill (and sometimes chaos) to your life. Usually who plan hangouts, slumber parties, and travel plans, the outgoing friend can be a lot of fun to be with, however, some can be a bad influence. When I was still studying, I’ve been with friends who had invited me to drinking sessions and clubbing, but I had to say no. This is not me being a killjoy – but at that time, I need to prioritize my studies, the trust of my parents, and most especially, myself. Always remember that a true friend would know the right time when to have fun or not – but sometimes ( and I admit haha), breaking the rules can be fun too!
The trendsetter.
From fashion, music, tv-series and everything new, this type of friend is always updated – and thus deserves the “trendsetter” title. Aside from being updated, these friends are not afraid to be different and very unique in their own way. Like Marilyn Monroe says, ” It’s better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring!”. I really love hanging out with these friends, since I’m also kind of like a trendsetter.
The Slow one
This is exactly the opposite of the trendsetter – this type of friend can be foolish most of the time but in a cute and funny way!
Mostly the object of the group’s pranks, these friends don’t have any clue, usually absent-minded and corny. But surprisingly, they are the ones who will be missed the most when they are not present. I like these types of friends because they are usually sweet and affirmative. They can be foolish and weird, but they are intelligent when it comes to life issues. They can be like the therapist friend in a way that’s why having them around is awesome. You got a therapist + crackhead friend into one!
The Crush
Last but not the least, this type of friend made us happy and break our hearts at the same time. I’m sure each of you had this kind of friend once in your life! I had this type of friend once, but sadly I was not only rejected, we turned into strangers too. I guess that there are some relationships that would be better as friends, because they would last longer – no attachments, no bitterness because friendship is supposed to be full of love and joy, right? This type of friend may be the therapist, the funny one, or all of the above. But one thing is for sure, this type of friend will always have a special place in your heart.
Whether he/she is the funny one, the outgoing or better, all of the above, there’s one thing for sure: that friend would truly be unforgettable, and somehow changed your life. One thing I learned in friendship is that, if you want to find a loyal and true friend, then be one. Here’s to more wonderful years of friendship!
